Uganda Railways Corporation (URC) has appointed Mr Abel Kamoga as the Technical Assistant to the Managing Director.
According to a statement by URC, the appointment is aimed at strengthening technical and strategic support within the corporation.
According to URC, Mr Kamoga brings a strong blend of technical expertise and strategic advisory experience to the corporation.

and sectorwide exposure that aligns well with the role's demands," URC stated.
Kamoga is a trained civil engineer, holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute, and a Master of Engineering in Global Engineering from the Institute of Science of Tokyo.
His research focused on transportation development.
He has also undertaken professional training in sustainable urban transport, intelligent transport systems and global infrastructure planning.
Mr Kamoga has over 10 years’ experience in Uganda’s transport sector, having worked in railway design, project planning and financing, contract management and high-level technical advisory roles.
He previously served on the Standard Gauge Railway Project and contributed to major transport infrastructure initiatives, including One Stop Border Posts and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
He also provided technical assistance to the Minister of Works and Transport during key reforms in the rail, aviation and maritime sub-sectors.
URC notes that his experience includes coordination with international development partners and participation in regional and global transport initiatives.
In his new role, Mr Kamoga is expected to support the Managing Director by providing technical and strategic advisory services in railway operations, infrastructure development, modernisation and institutional partnerships.
